Quick Recap of a Looooooong Few Days.

Best I recall, Senator, the time has gone by thusly...

8 hour layover in KL.  Arrived there Wednesday.  Flew to Miri, arrived at hotel tat  0100, technically Thursday.  Slept a bit.  Breakfast at the hotel.

Wandered around town a bit.  Dragged the 32Kg monstrosity of stuff to the new place. By 1400 was dead on my feet.  Nap time, alarm set for 1700.  At 1700 I aggressively told the alarm off.  Slept until midnight.  Peed, drank.  Slept to 0300.  Peed, drank.  Slept until 0500 and decided it was time to see a sunrise in Miri.  15 hours.  Still not enough (there never is.)

Walked to breakfast - roti cenai!  Yummy.

Walked back to the hotel.  Grabbed the normal suitcase and headed to the apartment.  Realized if I'm gonna sleep here then linens would be nice.  Made a list and set out to Bintang ("Star") Megamall.  Got drenched as a sprinkle turned into a light downpour on the walk.  Took a Grab (Grab >> Uber) cause it was now a medium downpour.

Bought a lightweight duvet and 2 stets of linens. Queen.  Linens one in a nice light green and one in a blue.  They play well off each other so I'll mix and match.  Went home (!) and decided to use the big machines at the laundry mat across the street.  Easy peasy.

Went to put the sheets on the bed.  Master bedroom is a King.  FML.  I made the grown up guest bedroom with the queen.  For tonight.  Guests will have some nice sheets.  I'll get some king stuff tomorrow.

Decided I needed some other stuff.  Went to the other Imperial Mall by scooter.  Just like the scooter I had in CA.  RM 6.2 ($1.5), exactly what the Grab cost coming home.  I have a few things now. Plugs for the computer and phone, dish towels, drinking glasses, etc.  Could not find laundry or dish detergents.  Went looking.

Found some laundry pods - 10 for RM5.  No fancy brand or package.  Decided not to eat them even though I was hungry.

Found my favorite Indonesian mamak.  Mee Goreng with chicken and a lemonade = RM11

Walked home, decided I want to clean those drinking glasses.  And, do laundry.

Ran into a Malay dude I had met last  time here - he recognized me!  Chatted a bit and begged off.  Needed dish detergent.  Unnamed MiniMart did not have it.  The "III VI V" brand Minimart immediately adjacent did.

Oh, wait until I tell you about shopping here.  It's......different.  I cannot imagine why that surprises me a lot.  But it shocks me.  It's an entry unto itself.

Knackered as all hell.  Bed time.  Laundry and glasses can be soaped tomorrow.

Happy and feeling good.

Kolo Mee on the mind at the pop up ...that's a really happy thought.

No proofing, will edit in daylight.

Selamat Malam,

James*
