A Daytime Write Up, Whhhaaa?

Just back from WAKxMiri.  It is a scorcher of a day.  No clouds.  Apparent Temperature according to my app (Nautide) is 36C or 97F. It feels it.

I woke up and walked to Tin Shack Aunties.  Late arrivals come at a cost.  She was out of "Mee" (wheat, round) noodles.  Only "Bee Hun" (rice, flat noodles but narrower than "Kway Teow") were available.  So, I rolled with that.  Next time I'll ask her to use them for Char Kway Teow.  Noodles make a difference to the dish.
Kway Teow Wonton Mee.

The rice noodles lack the tooth, are too slippery, and just fall flat.  The dish was still good.  Just not nearly as tasty as Kolo Mee.  Not gonna disregard centuries of noodle knowledge so readily.

Last night's dinner was much better
'Pork Rice,' like "Chicken Rice."
I selected 2 types of pork: crispy roast and Char Siew (BBQ).
The Char Siew was amazing, the crispy as great but just not as flavorful.

OK, back to today. When I left for breakfast, the Panthers were up 3-0.  No point in watching. Ummm, I was wrong.  By the time I was done it was overtime at 4-4.

I walked home, and turned on the game.  (Oddly my VPN works on my Chromebook but not directly on the TV. ESPN works on both.)  Damn, Oilers.  I hate them.

It was too early to sit and chill all afternoon.  So I made the call to grab 1.5 liters of chilled AIR ("water" in Malay, very confusing) and walk to the WAK x Miri thing,  HOT, HOT, HOT.  I found it without a problem.  I looked about the small selection of vendors.  Coffee, tea, crafts, etc. Then I went to the arts part inside ... AIRCON.  There I was spotted by Gina, of course.  She showed me around and introduced me to many of the artists.  I picked up a nice WAK t-shirt.

Also ran into Kirk and Sue.  They had to pick up some stuff nearby and had dropped by to take a gander.  All of us came to the conclusion that we did not need to see performances tonight.  Just not our scenes.

I found the soap vendor.  My hope was that I'd actually get to make the soap.  Nope.  I could craft my own scent.  So for $12 I made two bars: Lavender & Peppermint and Tea Tree & Bergamot.  The soap was melted and molded (just a simple bar), and scented.  While I waited for it to cool and solidify I had a nice espresso from a local vendor, bought a cheap bead bracelet (I want something on my right wrist) that will do until I pull the trigger on what I really want (the Omega Sailor's bracelet that I've not been willing to pay for over the last decade plus.)  Had a lavendar dusted berry tart on offer from 2 young ladies who are local students.  Grabbed a pair of little woven reed 'baskets' for change and keys by the door.

Eventually the soap solidified and I went home to a cold shower.

It's dinner time.  Catch you tomorrow.
