Wind Chill!

Wind Chill happens in the tropics too.  Today is cloudy and breezy.  The sweat wicks away (daylight has lower humidity here.)  It's delightful to be a bit chilled when the heat index/Humiture is 35C.  (95F)  Trully.

Yesterday was a zonker.  Just didn't have it.  Breakfast.  And It was just too hot to even sit by the pool.  No breeze.  Yuck.  You tube and 10 hours of sleep.  There will be more of those to come.  That's my recovery/transition mode historically.

Didn't even go look for the croc.

I'm always on the lookout for 3 things as I wander or choose a place to sit: flags, foliage, and shade.  Today the 1st two are moving and the third is abundant.  It feels good.

The Noodlebowski and I were texting and he asked if this could be the monsoon season.  I thought not.  I was wrong.  Apparently it started when I left SFO (5/10) officially.  This is the SW* Monsoon.  Mongolia heats up, sucking the ocean air in.  It REALLY hits the subcontinent hard (hence the Himalayan Climbing season ends when it starts rolling.)  In the winter, Mongolia chills, and cold air sweeps in from the NE.  (No. Hemisphere: rising air swirls clockwise; cooling counterclockwise.  SoHemi, the opposite.)  Noods, look at the "Bowditch" for the full picture, it'll be concise and complete.

My mindset: my birthday (mid June) and Christmas will be when they really roll.

Not much else comes to mind, lets roll the film...

Tin Shack Auntie's has been closed 2 days running!
(Yesterday was a holiday; I hope she's just resting this week.)

Stumpy, not quite as proud** as when the tides are low.

This is "Bob," a smooth back barreled 'gator.

Pride Month ... in an Islamic Nation.  I'm pleased.

Sarawak Laksa (as always sans prawns).  I have grown to like fish balls.
How the hell did that happen?  RM19
Even cloudy days require a hat when you're bald and bunkered down on Borneo***

First espressos in a while.
RM20, yes, more than the food (that was for 2 Doppios.)

Damn, the breeze feels so good today.

* Winds are labeled by their origination; currents by their destination.  A westerly wind sweeps down the Rockies into the Plains.  The Gulf Stream is a North Easterly current Miami to Bar Harbor to Denmark.

** In the machining and carpentry sense.

*** You know you're on the worlds 3rd largest Isle when you're 'bunkered down on Borneo'
I wish Michelle Shocked's music was still available...Very hard to find her stuff online.

Not a good version.  Find the full lyrics for a better understanding of the joke.
